This first space aged fair drew over 10 million visitors from around the world to Seattle.  It was meant to give a glimpse of the st Century.  It was a hopeful, ambitious and innocent time in the history of the country. Memorabilia from the fair serve as cultural artifacts of the time and in 2012 it will be 50 years.  Save a piece of the city and state's dream to make it the world class city it is today

In retrospect, in the last hundred years, change, population, industry, ideas, technology, and migration have drastically impacted the region's environment.  Today is a good milestone to compare 1909 and 1962 life here with what will occur in 2012 and 2109.

Washington State Pavilion($9Million in '62 Dollars Construction), AKA Coliseum, AKA Key Arena, SuperSonics Home Court and home to WBA Seattle Storm and as venues go, now in the lower tier for professional sports and acoustically big name concerts and festivals are events for thousands.

Background history on the Seattle World's Fair and other World's Fairs and Expositions held in Washington State.  2009 marked the Centennial of Seattle's FIRST World's Fair, The 1909 Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition.  Like in '62, the city branded itself as the gateway to Alaska's Gold Rush, Pacific Rim Trade and US expansion to the west.
